Where the Love Goes

Always there exists people, places or things where we are able to place our time, attention, energy, and most importantly love. If I would ponder a prevailing theme guiding my life, and in those I am in relationship with, it would be this question: what do I do with all this love energy?
I am unable to be in relationship with (fill in the blank) whether they are earth side or not for whatever the reason. I am unsure of where to focus this well spring of a life force?
One can choose to go into a variety of responses with this. Firstly, whatever it is must be felt at the deepest level. Brought to the surface, looked at, sifted, sorted, poked, prodded, until it resembles a thread bare blanket.
What happens next can become a corner turned. When I feel as if I’ve hit the wall, rather than retreat for too long, I try to peek out long enough to notice if there is something beckoning me?
Often resembling a furry hamster with cheeks filled with seeds, almost twice the size of its body. What I have burrowed and stored away pleading for an exit. Lest it become stagnant. Most often it is asking for an action.
Inviting our openness, creativity, an entirely new vessel, skin, whatever it requires. Rather than remaining too long in lack, hopelessness, even victimhood. How can this energy be moved out of one’s being into the ethers?
This becomes our practice, yes? I understand that it’s mine. Lather, Rinse, Repeat. Never a won and done. Always in process.
There exists a place, a person, a four or two legged critter ready or not to receive what we are offering. Most especially when it originates from within our hearts without an agenda nor expectations. This is where it can become tricky if we are unaware. Our humanness may get in our way at times, and this is when I try to remain compassionate with myself. Reminding myself that most likely it’s my inner child having a moment.
I’m not sure why we hesitate, stop ourselves, believing it has to often be some grandiose display? A simple and thoughtful gesture can move oceans and mountains as a dear friend of mine recently wrote to me.
A phone call
Picking up mail for someone
When making a grocery store run inquiring if there is anything a neighbor may need?
Sharing our daily walk
Email
Sending flowers
Helping drive to an appointment
Becoming a plus 1 to a doctor’s appointment when another set of ears may be vital
Offering the gift of time to a caretaker to spell them for as long as possible
Sharing a meal
Noticing something about another, and taking the time to share it. Offering a boost, shining a light, making them aware that they are seen and matter.
If a nudge or ping comes in, learn to trust it. Reach out, and at the very least the receiver will feel thought of. Our love discovering outlets it has been longing for.

Oh I love this post! Yes, giving a piece of my love, without expecting anything in return, is the greatest feeling ever!
Lather, Rinse, Repeat. Never a won and done. Always in process.
Lovely words, Joanie. I know this process too. And, by not being frustrated with the repetition, like you I can find it strangely comforting to know that I’ve done this before so I know how to do it AGAIN.
And I agree…there is always somewhere to put that love. But sometimes we need reminding. Such is today for me…thank you dear friend 🙏❤️
Whatever would I do without you, my earth angel and that one in a million son of yours?🫶🪶🐢🥹❤️🙏🫂
Giving is the thing that takes us out of ourselves. Thank you Joanie for all you give to me, and to the world xx
