Dear Joanie I so hope you are aware that you are a ‘maker of days’ and that you have just made mine! 😍 Your wonderful words have catapulted me right back into pure Lyra love, golden curls and giggles! I am sending so much love to you and your beautiful big hearted boy, Douglas, Douglas, DOUGLAS 💚⛰️🪶
I have never had anyone express to me that I am a ‘maker of days.’ This has left me beaming from ear to ear, and really the only place I can absorb it is here, within the safety of our community.
My reply was that she had made mine with her generous spirit.
We each possess this human quality within to either make or break a day. I understand it may appear like a no brainer, perhaps even trivial for some.
Oh, but it is far from that.
It requires a decision, energy to stop, look up, and pass something along that may become a tether for another to hold onto. Perhaps a day changer, at the very least a reminder that we are being seen, and our presence matters.
Might we pause for a moment to inquire within to discern before our words are out in the ethers, if it is something we would appreciate receiving?
Coming from my heart is my love language. I try to land within the terrain of another, to imagine, and to envision. In hopes of creating a bridge where we might inch closer to one another.
Some will decide to take a quick exit, a hike completely in the opposite direction, and that needs to be okay too. A natural evolution of the ‘thinning of the herd’ where more is not always the gold standard.
Rather than believing I must show up in many places, perhaps this season is about remaining long enough to cultivate a depth of connection, right where my feet are.
We can never know how our words might land? May we offer them generously when we are feeling a nudge. Without a need to overthink, which might cause us to say nothing at all for fear that we are going about it in the wrong way.
When expressed from a caring and loving heart without any expectations, this becomes our filter and barometer.
Asking to ‘make more days’ than the alternative, and when we don’t, may the practice of repair enter in swiftly.
“If you occupy space on the planet, you have meaning.” ~David Kessler
*My gratitude for your presence here. If you like what you are reading, clicking on the heart at the bottom of the page helps me get this out into the ethers. Also, your comments are engaging, assisting our community, and please never hesitate if you feel called to pass any along to someone you are thinking of.

It’s so very true, dear Joanie… you are a day maker with your beautiful grasp of language…when someone says “you’ve made my day!”how beautiful is that! ☺️
So many ways you lift others up, embrace their feelings by reading between the lines, reaching their hearts with yours. I receive comments on something minor that a reader picked up on…that touches me beyond the content. Does that make sense? Thank you for reminding us to think first… give only what we ourselves would value. Much love, my favorite Joanie friend!☺️😉💕
This post landed fully in my garden! For me this is very real and very true.
Yes, I too thought Romey’s description of you as a ‘maker of (her) day’ was both beautiful and apt. When someone offers us words that land so well it does two things, I think…we are offered supreme comfort, but we are also reminded that we are worthy of this dedicated attention, of someone having spent the time recognising what words we most needed to hear.
It is a beautiful gift to receive…and a gift to be able to offer such comfort as you do, I think Joanie ❤️❤️❤️
There’s a great echo in this place!! 🗣️ 💗
Vibrant words from Lyra's mum. Joanie, you make so many of my days with well timed wisdom xx
