Hands and Hearts

Moving Forward By Remembering
With this recent loss of my cousin, Don, which my family and I are living into I’m right back into the bubbling and steaming hot cauldron of remembering. I must reflect and remember so that I can move forward into first imagining life without him. I believe our shared past is my steady and secure anchor place that I will return to often for comfort and reassurance as I peek around corners that no longer contain him as they once did. Moving forward and moving on are two differ

Going Within, Our Final Frontier
Going within is our final frontier. I know this with a full heart that it has been mine for the last year and a half. Meditating has been and continues to carve within me a landscape that was as foreign to me as visiting a far off and exotic land. What prevented me before when I dabbled before? Thoughts such as: I don’t have the time, nothing is happening, how is this worthwhile when I need to be _______ ?( fill in the blank), I’m not doing this right, my experiences don’t

And Everything Changed
Richard, me, my cousin, Don, and his wife Nancy I received a call very early this morning and my mind was reeling. I was completely an outside child, nature housed me and she was carried in my pocket always. However, when the call was to be inside, depending upon what my spirit needed, I instinctively knew which room beckoned me to her door. The walls of the basement and

Intense and Awkward
A birthday card sent from my first friend, we met at age three and have been in one another's spheres for over six decades now. Intense and Awkward are what my mentor and I had an amazing shared moment of laughter over as she described herself using those two words and that’s me as well. We were speaking of friendships and how vital they are for our well-being. I recalled a dear friend of mine recounting that she almost headed for the hills in our early encounters. We giggle

A View From Above
While in conversation with one of my Utah peeps who listened to what I was sharing she replied with a sentence of how she viewed me in me the midst of this ongoing monologue I often find myself engaged within. What I heard her say was something to the effect that with my boundaries and what is best for me currently that the relationship I was describing felt mutually beneficial for all. It was one of those pivotal moments where everything slowed down and I saw from a differe
