Hands and Hearts

Catch and Release
Douglas fishing at the Grey's River in Wyoming. I hear this often with the women I’m in relationship with and I absolutely recognize this within myself. One’s human nature to catch onto a thought and allow it to spin us out into every direction. Where this plays in the most with the loss of a child are in the catching of thoughts that make one believe there might have been something that could have been done to change the outcome. Maybe there could have been, yet it does not

Today is the Day
Today is the day is what I keep hearing within myself. There is another healer on the island whom I deeply desire to connect with and we have spoken briefly over the phone several months ago, yet it’s time now. I will reach out and see if we can meet one another over coffee or tea. We are currently in a potent portal of taking courageous steps towards living into our most empowered and authentic lives. How Does it Feel Being You?
I was listening to a podcast not long ago that I enjoy and heard a favorite greeting the mother/daughter co-hosts often say to one another. “How does it feel being you today?” Having the opportunity to try this with one of the women I’m mentoring felt pivotal. When I posed the question, she paused and replied, “so, so.” I sat quietly with that for a moment and asked if she could say more? I understand how it feels for me to be so, so, yet I desire to understand how it feels f

Befriending Acceptance
“Acceptance doesn’t mean resignation: it means understanding that something is what it is and that there’s got to be a way through it.” Michael J. Fox My experimenting and practicing acceptance has covered a wide swath. What I am noticing about myself is that when I actually use the two words, “I accept” and then place afterward the person, situation, challenge that I am enmeshed within, something within me has been softening, shifting and feels less raw and edgy. My former w
